We can read in the Bible, in Hebrews 11:6 that “without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Without faith or without belief in Jesus, it would be impossible for us to please Him. Everyone who comes to Jesus must believe that He exists, and that He rewards men. This confidence is called faith. Faith really is important in our relationship with the Lord.
Faith is necessary to salvation. Acts 16:31 says, “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and you household.” The faith that saves is a personal trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Not just a head belief or a knowledge of Jesus Christ and a general acceptance of the Bible but a heart belief. The faith from the heart that causes a person to act on his faith.
We continually believe in Jesus every time we act on our faith by obeying Him. James 2:26 says that “Faith without work is dead.” We must show our faith by what we do. Faith without deeds is worthless.
As Christians, we all have faith but as we exercise it and pray, our faith grows and increases. Let’s ask the Lord to help us increase our faith in Him. Let us realize the importance of faith in our lives and never fail to put our faith only in our Lord Jesus Christ.
