King David passionately desired to seek and know Jesus. In the book of Psalms, he used words like longing, thirsting and yearning. He really want Jesus, above all else. He said in Psalm 27:4, “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.”
Jesus said in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.” If we spend time to seek Jesus, we’ll be able to find Him if we really want to. Some people however do not really, seek the Lord. Some people may want to experience Jesus in their lives, but they don’t do anything about it. They just expect the Lord to do things for them, or to do miracles for them.
Some people who do not believe in Jesus are not able to experience Him because they do not look for Him with all their hearts. We won’t be able to find something if we do not look for it. Therefore, we won’t be able to find Jesus and know Him if we do not seek Him. An intimate relationship with Jesus our Savior is a choice and not an accident. You must intentionally seek it.
You can’t just say that you want to know Jesus and then do nothing. You must act on what you say. If you want to know the Lord Jesus Christ, if you really want to experience Him in your life, and if you really call Him your Lord and your God, you must seek Him by knowing His Words. Romans 10:17 says that our faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
We must know the Words of Jesus. Through reading the Bible, you will be able to know Him because it is His written words. The Bible is living and it is active. Jesus speaks to us through His Words. If we love Jesus, we will not take the Bible for granted. If Jesus is important to us, we will get to know His Words and we’ll always seek Him with all our hearts. So never forget to put Jesus in the center of your life, for He is our life and our strength, He is the reason we that live.
